A man reaps the fruit of his past deeds. Karma says it all. This well-known expression remarked by Siddharta Gautama underlines his journey to Lord Buddha.

Gautama Buddha, the awakened one, was the founder of Buddhism.

After spending 29 years of his life in his father’s palace, he made his way towards the state. Becoming apprised about the lives of the residents, he got to know that life was full of distress and sorrow outside of the palace. He went to seek spiritual life amid human suffering and discovered the four truths of life.

  1. The world is full of sorrow and misery.
  2. The cause of all suffering is DESIRE.
  3. The distress can put to an end by killing the desire.
  4. The method to attain the NIRVANA.

Nirvana is the highest state of enlightenment, a state of peace and happiness where one gets freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

Quoting one of Buddha’s lines, Change outlook, not circumstances. Moreover, one can invert negative emotions turning ignorance into wisdom, anger into compassion, and greed into generosity.
